Michael Kleinmann

Michael Kleinmann is not your typical consultant. He’s spent over two decades building and advising 7-figure and 8-figure e-commerce businesses. He brings the kind of experience that only comes from doing the work from end to end, across every stage of growth.

His journey began in 2001, at Freshpair, one of the first online underwear retailers, from his New York apartment. At a time when shopping for basics online was far from normal, he built a full-scale e-commerce business that grew into a category leader, with 30,000+ SKUs and partnerships across more than 150 global brands. He also made underwear part of the cultural conversation by creating National Underwear Day, an event that helped push the category into mainstream attention. By the time Freshpair was acquired, it had redefined how men shop for essentials, and Michael decided to move on to a new venture.

In 2012, Michael launched Underwear Expert as a blog and content marketing platform. Within a few years, the team had produced thousands of articles, hundreds of photo shoots, and hundreds videos, reaching hundreds of millions and setting the standard for industry expertise. With a large following, in 2015, he transitioned the brand into the subscription e-commerce model built on proprietary curation technology, combined with best in class software; Shopify Plus, Recharge, and many more.

Michael has built teams, launched brands, and advised companies across many categories. The reason founders and executives trust him is simple: he’s done it himself across product, tech, marketing, and logistics, and knows what it takes to make all of it work together.
